Here is a selection of images of different landscapes around the UK and abroad.
Landscapes are probably my favourite subject matter to shoot.
With the changing of the seasons a raging torrent can become a chandelier of ice and a lush green forest can become a stand of bare skeletons - each season with it's own unique beauty.
I love bold skies and wild seascapes. The Scottish weather doesn't offer up many sunny days but the heavy skies and low light can make for some very atmospheric and powerful shots.
I like using polarising filters for some of my shots too. They're great a stripping the reflections from a shot and increasing the contrast in a blue sky or an iron grey sea.
A rainy day on the hills can still be very enjoyable and productive if I've got my camera and a good set of waterproofs.
Look for some more international subject matter in the near future.
'There is pleasure in the pathless woods, There is rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea and music in its roar...'
- Lord Byron (from Childe Harold's Pilgrimage)
